What is World Whiskey Day?

World Whiskey Day is a day of celebration that invites everyone to try a dram (drink of Whiskey) and celebrate Uisce Beatha, the water of life. This is a global event that take place across the world, with events happening locally, regionally and beyond. All that's needed? You'll need a bottle of Whiskey to share with your friends, or a sample for yourself. World Whiskey day celebrates all types of Whiskey/whisky and encourages everyone to enjoy whiskey responsibly.

The main purpose of this event is to make Whiskey fun and enjoyable. An event for all to enjoy, share knowledge in a celebration of the craft. You can drink it however you enjoy it (ice, water, mixer – whatever works for you). The Whiskey community is all inclusive and that means any kind of Whiskey/whiskey from anywhere in the world.

When is World Whiskey Day?

World Whisky Day 2020 is on Saturday 16th May. The day takes place on the third Saturday in May each year.

Do I have to drink whiskey neat?

There is many misconceptions of how I should drink whiskey. If you don't like whiskey straight, why not try a whiskey cocktail? There are lots of fantastic whiskey cocktails that you could try, and many distilleries have some fantastic cocktail recipes available online or check out the menus in your local bars. Some personal favourites, Whiskey Sour, Old Fashioned's, or for cold nights, try a Hot Whiskey or an Irish Coffee?
